Can we really find Jesus today? by Leslie Dixon Weatherhead Download PDF EPUB FB2

Jesus Today is written in a different formant than Ms. Youngs previous book. This format disappointed me a little at first because I really liked that format and looked forward to reading it in the same manner/5.

Going back to the Bible, we can similarly see Jesus everywhere. Jesus didn’t just appear in the Gospels. He wasn’t just talked about in the epistles in New Testament.

Jesus can be found and pointed to in every single book in the Bible, including the Old Testaments. And the most amazing part is that every. Jesus said he could answer prayer, forgive sin, judge the world, give us eternal life.

His countless miracles supported his words. Jesus was clear, “I am the way, the truth, and the life; no one can come to the Father except through me.” 7. Instead of trying to reach God, he tells us how we can begin a relationship with him right now.

Can we find more evidence in the gospels. After Jesus was raised from the dead, He continued to teach His disciples and prepare them for the work they would carry out after He was gone.

The account in Mark records that after fulfilling His task, Christ ascended into heaven: “So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, He was received up into. My daughter (3 years old) just loves seek and find books, and I love that we can incorporate scripture with these.

I really like all the extra things there are to find, and that you are asked to find people and things that have relevance to the text as well. Willl definitely get more in this series/5(35). We find these authors saying it’s extremely important for us to be accurate and for historians to write accurate truth like a mirror.

and king and that they weren’t really Jesus. And yet, we know through faith that Jesus is with us in the midst of our trials. He is right there with you, giving strength and encouragement through His gentle presence.

In Jesus Today: Experience Hope Through His Presence, Sarah Young shares from her writings through devotional readings written as though Jesus Himself is speaking to you/5(67). Each text is given that we may be further conformed to the image of Jesus (see 2 Timothy –17; Romans ).

If we fail to see a text in terms of. That joy is real; it often surfaces in the midst of tragedy. I can’t say for certain that this fleeting joy is God, but it certainly can be a comfort; and a divine supportThe Rev.

Mark Beckwith. This is a world of tragedy and pain. It is also a world of joy and fulfillment. Michael Arceneaux is the New York Times bestselling author of I Can’t Date Jesus: Love, Sex, Family, Race, and Other Reasons I’ve Put My Faith in has written for The New York Times, The Washington Post, Essence, Esquire, Ebony, Elle, Rolling Stone, and many other publications on and off Al Gore’s ’s ran his mouth on MSNBC, NPR, VH1, Viceland, /5().

Once we find Him, we can then go on a journey to find what our calling is. God will equip you with supernatural abilities called Gifts of the Holy Spirit to allow you to function in Him.

These abilities are our key into unlocking other unbelievers to show them that God is a living God, and is alive today, and able to do what the Bible promises. Give the Gift of Hope in Difficulty with Jesus Today.

Whether you need a lifeline in your discouragement and hurts or are longing for a close intimate relationship with the Lord, you will delight in this new devotional book – a sequel to #1 bestselling Jesus Calling ®.It is written as if Jesus Himself is assuring you that He is in control, that He is good, and that a glorious future Pages: In Michael H.

Hart, an astrophysicist and historian, published a somewhat controversial book called The A Ranking of the Most Influential Persons in History. 1 Unsurprisingly, Jesus Christ made his list.

Hart caused some commotion among Christian readers, however, by ranking Jesus third, behind Muhammad and Sir Isaac Newton.

The hope that we have in Christ should be, and it is, a hot commodity. We ought to be sharing that hope with everything we have. I believe that we try to do that in this book.

We do tell the story in accurate reporting, but we also remind everybody that God is still in control and we don’t have any right to live with anxiety every : Jesus Calling. We easily make judgment calls, certain we won’t like something — whether it’s music, a book, food or people.

Then, it becomes a self-fulfilling prophesy because we never really get to know what we judge at the start. Jesus can be like this, too. When Jesus returns, let Him find faith in you. Bert Farias' books are forerunners to personal holiness, the move of God, and the return of the Lord.

They also combat the departure from the faith and turning away from the truth we are seeing today. Can we really know that there was a sinless, miracle-working, death-defying man named Jesus who lived upon the Earth approximately 2, years ago, or have we accepted His existence blindly.

Even though the New Testament proves beyond the shadow of a doubt that Jesus actually lived, it is by no means the only historical evidence available. Question: "What does it mean to know Jesus?" Answer: When people speak of “knowing” Jesus, they refer to having a relationship with Him.

Being a Christian is more than knowing about Jesus; being a Christian is knowing Him personally. Jesus spoke of the need to know the Savior when He prayed, “This is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God.

Going into reading this I heard Who is Jesus was somewhat of an elementary introduction about who Jesus is. I am glad to say I was proven wrong. The first few chapters may have felt like this, but very quickly we realize this is a book that a person who has been a Christian for twenty years could pick up and see Jesus in a new light/5.

If for John the Baptist, the reign of God was soon coming, impending, for Jesus it is here, today. We often hear the phrase that the reign of God is. It’s far from a perfect book, but really there aren’t very many good books on Jesus at an introductory level, which is what this is.

McLaren takes some of Wright’s most important stuff — about the Jewish context in general, and the rival Jewish factions in particular — and makes it easy to understand. Book Review: Bart Ehrman’s Jesus Before the Gospels We can see their motivations for why they remembered Jesus as they did in the way they.

If it can be shown that the four Gospels – Matthew, Mark, Luke and John – present an accurate record of the life and ministry of Jesus, then Jesus Himself becomes an argument in support of the truth of the Bible. If the Bible has been shown to be reliable, this line of reasoning is no longer circular, but rational.

In other words, what the. If God could be known in the Old Testament times as these verses show, then we can know Him even better today because Jesus Christ made Him known even more clearly. John says Jesus Christ “has made Him [God] known.” If Jesus made Him known, then obviously He can be.

Everyone needs to find Jesus because He is the ONLY way to get to God and all He can offer. Also, people need to find Him urgently because the world is wrapping up fast and there will be no mercy once the door of heaven is closed.

Therefore seeking how to find Jesus is the best decision you can probably make. Jim: So, let me remind you to support Focus on the Family if you can. You’re part of this. And I know times are hard right now for many families, but if you’re in a position to help us, and really help others, that’s the key, we’d appreciate it.

Janu 49 B.C. is one of the most famous dates in the history of ancient Rome, even of the ancient world. On that date Julius Caesar crossed the Rubicon River, committing himself and his followers to civil war.

Few, if any, historians doubt that. When you learn how to know Jesus, you begin an amazing journey into God’s plan for your life. Romans says it this way: for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of g Jesus is simply acknowledging your need for Him, believing what He did for you and accepting His amazing gift.

It recognizes that you can’t live this life on your own, that you’ve sinned and are. Part 1: Introduction. As we get closer to the release of The Passion of the Christ, more and more people will be talking and writing about ns will differ, sometimes widely, about who Jesus was, what he did, and how all of this matters today.

For Christians, the Bible is the only document we need to know Jesus existed. In fact, His existence can be seen today, in all things big and small — especially where He lives in our hearts. Where Do I Find Jesus Since the scriptures tell us that we can find Jesus with our heart, sometimes we become blinded in finding Jesus because we have spiritual blinders on our eyes. And when this happens, we seem to lose site of : Eric Ferguson.

If someone has memorized the Bible and can speak eloquently, or they have lots of “intimacy language” we often say that they “know Jesus”. With this false idea of intimacy, Jesus is not a real human to us in the same way that the people close to.

That is the way of Jesus. So if we really accept what the Gospel says when Jesus declares today that he is the bread come down from heaven, the bread that feeds our spirit life, feeds our souls. When we look at it like that with empirical knowledge, with scientific knowledge to compare with the scriptures, we can find no other person fitting these characteristics on earth today, more so.
